Wynstan & Doug | Social Pug Profile
It is that time again where I get to share with you another pug, or in this case two, in the latest Social Pug Profile. This week I am excited to share with you the naughty & nice boys from Sydney, Wynstan & Doug. I first discovered these boys when I received a lovely email from the mum saying she had gone from loving pugs to owning these two. And since then, I have been watching them grow up on Instagram. And now I can introduce them to you… meet Wynstan & Doug.
Wynstan: Wynstan Lenford Lenry III.
Wynstan: Nearly 6 months old
Doug: I’m a little bit younger than Wynstan, about 30 mins I think.
Birth date or Gotcha Date:
Wynstan: We were born 5th March 2015 in Queensland.
Doug: Mum and Dad drove to get us on the 19th May 2015, it’s about an 11 hour drive for our non-Australian friends.
Where do you live?
Wynstan: We live in Sydney, Australia.
Doug: We’re in a nice little place in the Sutherland Shire, very quiet and suburban.
What is your favourite time of the day?
Wynstan: When mum wakes up, or when mum gets home. I go a little cray-cray, even if she was gone for 10 minutes.
Doug: Snooze time, I love a good nap. If there’s a good spot in the sun I can nap for hours!
What is your favourite food?
Wynstan: Chicken! I eat it so fast that I get a belly ache. I also love my carrots, apples, cucumbers and ham.
Doug: I love puppy milk, it goes great with our doggy cookies. Oh by the way – stay tuned on our Instagram, we’re getting a cookie named after us!
Do you have a toy that you can’t live without?
Wynstan: The kong wobbler, I’m so good at it. I can fling it across the room and get a whole bunch of treats out at once. I also like the treat ball, but it gets stuck under things too much. I like toys with treats inside!
Doug: I like sticks and cardboard boxes. We have stuffies and balls, but I like the sticks and boxes Wynstan gets me. Wynstan brings me back sticks from his walk, and he gets into the recycling bin and pulls out cardboard packaging for me. Mum used to get upset at me for the boxes, but then she saw it was him that gets them so now he gets in trouble because he’s enabling my ripping up and making messes!
What do you hate the most?
Wynstan: I don’t like when mum goes out of sight. I have to keep an eye on her at all times, it’s a dangerous world out there for mums!
Doug: Same as Wynstan’s answer, and Kookaburras.
What do you love the most?
Wynstan: Mum! Ahh! I just have to be near her all the time! I also love Doug’s tail. Have you seen it?! It’s all curly and it wiggles, I love to chase it!
Doug: Belly rubs from dad.
Do you have any bad habits?
Wynstan: Apparently…but I blame it on being a puppy. Everyone says I’m the naughty one, I’m just exploring! I climb on tables and get stuck, I knock down the barrier to get to places we aren’t allowed to go, I get stuck crawling under furniture, I de-lace shoes, I spread the pegs around the yard, I de-stuff the stuffies. I’m pretty busy.
Doug: I wait for Wynstan to get me cardboard and then I rip that up while he gets up to other mischief.
What do you think is your best quality?
Wynstan: I’m a pug.
Doug: I’m a good boy, I’m always told I’m the good boy.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Wynstan: We are just some typical little suburban pugs. Weekdays are pretty chilled, we play and sleep while the humans are at work and mum watches us on the monitor. When they get home we go for a walk individually, or do some socialisation training at the train station or outside the shops. Each day we spend time apart and alone so we don’t develop separation anxiety.
Doug: Weekends are always busy. The neighbourhood kids come visit us, we go for longer walks, visit family, have play dates, go to bunnings (hardware store) for more social training. We also are supervisors for the renovations going on. We used the sound proof puppy training app from a young age, so the construction noises don’t bother us one bit. We need the weekdays to recover from our weekends!
What is it like growing up with a brother?
Wynstan: It’s reassuring to know that those noises in the night are just Doug’s snoring. I also know he’s got my back when I start a barking match with the German Shepard next door!
Doug: I feel that no matter what trouble I may get into in the future, it will probably be blamed on Wynstan because it’s just expected he did it.
What is the best & worst thing about having a sibling?
Wynstan: Best thing is always someone to play with, and the worst is Doug’s snoring.
Doug: Best is someone to snuggle with at night, and the worst is Wynstan eating the treats out of the kong before me.
