Turkey + Pumpkin Bites | Dog Treat Recipe
It is not easy finding treats that are not only healthy but also portioned controlled for pugs. Making your own treats is sometimes just the best option. This turkey + pumpkin bites dog treat recipe is the perfect recipe to make at home so you know exactly what is going into them. They are healthy, tasty and the perfect size for using for enrichment activities or training. What makes this recipe great is that it uses left over ingredients from our 4 hour turkey bone broth recipe plus some extra delicious, healthy food that your pug will love.

INGREDIENTS
- Cooked turkey meat from your turkey necks leftover from 4 hour turkey bone broth or you can use 525g of cooked turkey mince
- 475g cooked pumpkin or unsweetened canned pumpkin
- 1/2 cup warm turkey bone broth
- Dehydrator
- Blender or food processor
- 160 mould or similar silicone mould
DIRECTIONS
- Carefully remove all cooked meat from turkey necks after straining your 4 hour turkey bone broth making sure there is no bone throughout the meat
- If you are using turkey mince, lightly steam the meat
- Boil or steam pumpkin until soft
- Warm up 1/2 cup of turkey boney broth
- Place all ingredients into your chosen blending machine whether it is a food blender, NutriBullet or food processor
- Blend until well combined
- Spread mixture into the moulds
- Place moulds into dehydrator for 3-4 hours
- Remove treats from moulds and continue to dehydrate for a further 6-8 hours until completely dry
- Store in an airtight container for up to 1 month
NOTES
- Time will vary depending on your dehydrator and the settings available
- I use a Sunbeam Dehydrator which has settings of I, II & III where I used setting III for the entire process
