Sydney Royal Dog Show 2015 Part One
Every year at the Sydney Royal Easter Show you will find the Sydney Royal Dog Show where numerous breeds compete for Best in Show, including the pug breed. This year, the pugs were on show Friday 3rd April. I decided to head along and check out the competition as I have yet to see a pug competition in person. I packed a camera to get some photos to share with you all, especially those who were not at the Sydney Royal Easter Show this year when the pugs were on show.
I am going to spread this out over two posts and I actually managed to take about 600 photos at the show. I have culled it down to the best photos worthy of sharing with you and first up I will be sharing the photos I took of the pugs in the kennel area before they went on to compete. There were so many pugs there although most of them were in the row that was not accessible to the public. Now you won’t find this hard to believe but I spent nearly 2.5 hours of my time there watching and taking photos of the pugs between the kennel area and the show arena area.
Now for those, like me, who don’t know much about pug competitions, there was a sign at the beginning of the Dog Show Hall that gave a history of each breed and what they are judged on for the Sydney Royal Dog Show. This is the sign that was up for the pug breed.
And now for the Dog Show Hall photos….
I encountered some pugs outside taking toilet breaks and practicing for their time in the show ring…
The funniest of all is the little naughty pug who did a classic pug run through the show arena whilst the Shih Tzu’s were on show.
There were so many adorable pugs to see and meet. I could have spent all day with them. I hope you enjoyed these photos. Stay tuned for the rest of the photos in Sydney Royal Dog Show 2015 Part Two post on Friday.
Have you seen pugs on show before? Perhaps you have shown or currently show pugs in a range of competitions. Either way, I would love to hear what you think of seeing this wonderful breed in dog competitions. Leave me a comment below with your thoughts.
And if you are or your pug is in one of these photos or you know someone in these photos, let them know about this post and feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like a copy of the photo/s you are in.
