Social Pug Profile | Otis
It is that time again where you get to know a pug from the social media scene in our popular Social Pug Profile series. This time around we have the very pawsome, bow tie wearing, adventure pug Otis the Pug Walsh. Get to know this cool dude in his interview.
Name: Otis the Pug Walsh
Age: 2-years old
Birth date or Gotcha Date: December 9, 2013 in Buffalo, NY
Where do you live? Southampton, NY with my Mom, Dad, & 3 Siamese cats
What is your favourite time of the day?
Dinner time because I have my own seat the table and that’s when the best meals are always served! Especially in the summer time when the grill always brings something tasty to the table.
What is your favourite food?
While I adore Bacon, I have a real penchant for my cats’ Wellness Wet Cat Food and their Feline Greenies Treats.
Do you have a toy that you can’t live without?
Paws down, my favorite all time can’t live without toy is Chewbacca and I have a huge collection of them, but one in particular that is falling apart, comes with me everywhere.
What do you hate the most?
I hate rubber bands because they scare me. If you want me to stop doing something bad, just say “rubber band” and I stand at attention.
What do you love the most?
I love my family the most! I am joined at my Mom’s hip every day like the Velcro pug I am and when my Mom & Dad occasionally step out for even a moment, I give a homecoming welcome like I haven’t seen them for ages. This is why I am a traveling pug and their vacations are now always centered around pug friendly places so I can come too in my travel bag that everyone knows I get into on my own the moment I think we are leaving.
Do you have any bad habits?
I am a serial marker and need wee wee pads tucked into my favorite spot up against the couch because I like to lift my leg in that same corner every moment I can. I also like peeing under the Christmas tree. Another bad habit that lands me short stints in the slammer (behind the baby gate) is my cat food thievery. Sometimes my cat sister, Pasha colludes with me and lets me eat her food because she knows she’ll get more but I end up in jail. I think she secretly sets me up!
What do you think is your best quality?
I will willingly put on any costume as undignified as it may be, clothing, accessory or bowtie for photos at any given time. All I require is the promise of a tasty treat.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Because I am the Chief Pug Officer of this household and my pug office, I sleep in until about 10 or 11 am, take a lot of water breaks, have my brunch around noon, and play with my favorite cat brother Jester who likes to wrestle with me on occasion. In the summer, my favorite lounge chair under an umbrella is where my pug office hours generally take place. I also have lots of pug pool parties from May until late September as we keep the pool open as late as possible for my social events.
You have an incredible amount of bow ties. How many do you have and how does one come to own so many bow ties?
I have upwards of 150 bowties and counting. My bestie, Molly has a bow tie company called Mollyspawtique.com so she makes sure I am always outfitted and styling for the ladies. Another pal, Wellington, is the Chief Pug Officer of Curly Tail Ties who has outfitted me since I was a puppy too.
So far, what has been your greatest adventure in life?
My greatest adventure is my competitive pool races with my besties, Molly & Giles in the summer. We are all around the same age and are born swimmers, contrary to typical pugs. Another great adventure was when I took my first trip to Stowe, Vermont last year and rode on the Ski Gondola up the mountain, joined the kids at the ski school as the mascot for the day, and served as the greeting committee for all dogs at the Lodge apres ski.
Where can we follow your daily adventures?
I can be found on Instagram, Twitter, Vine, & Periscope at @otisthepugwalsh. I am also a regular participant at #PugChat on Twitter every Wednesday night from 7-8 pm EST where you can find a ton of great pug entertainment through photos moderated by my pal, @Hamiltonpug.
