It is that time again where you get to know a pug from the social media scene in our popular  Social Pug Profile series. This week it is superstar Oliver. Get to know Oliver in his interview.

Name: Oliver Hodgson

Age: About Eight. We’re not exactly sure because I spent at least the first four years of my life in a puppy mill.

Birth date or Gotcha Date: My Gotcha Day is January 1, the perfect day to start a new life.

Where do you live? I live in the United States in the beautiful state of Michigan.

What is your favourite time of the day?
When Mommy comes home from school!

What is your favourite food?
I love scrambled eggs, preferably organic and cage-free because sometimes I’m fancy and no one should live in a cage.

Do you have a toy that you can’t live without?
Living with our black Lab Jack has taught me to hold things tightly (or hide them under Mommy’s bed) because he is murder on toys and stuffies.

What do you hate the most?
Being separated from Mommy!

What do you love the most?
Being with Mommy!

Do you have any bad habits?
Honestly, I can’t think of any. I do have a long-standing disagreement with my grandhumans on what constitutes an appropriate spot to potty. They are incredibly narrow in their definition, whereas I take a more expansive view.

What does a typical day look like for you?

A Typical Day in the Life of Oliver

  1. Wake Up and get Mommy off to school.
  2. Get on the grandhumans’ bed with Jack to supervise them getting ready
  3. Morning rest
  4. Take a walk unless it’s too hot or cold (68°-72° is my optimal range)
  5. Afternoon rest
  6. Welcome Mommy home! Barking! Twirling! Whoo! Whooing! Some sneezing.
  7. Stick to Mommy like velcro
  8. Supervise the humans’ dinner
  9. Eat my dinner in the pantry so Jack doesn’t steal
  10. Evening rest
  11. Bedtime with Mommy!

As you can see I lead a fulfilling and busy life.

You are the reason behind the book The Pug List. How does it feel to know you are the star of a book?
I think every pug knows what it’s like to be a celebrity. Humans ran to meet me before The Pug List came out but now I have pawtographs to give them.

Tell everyone about The Pug List and why they should read the book?
The Pug List tells the story about how rescuing me helped my humans heal after an arsonist randomly set their house on fire and they lost everything but the clothes on their backs! Before the fire, they had talked about rescuing a pug, but afterwards my grandhumans thought it wasn’t a good time. Mommy was only seven but she knew better and thought it was the perfect time. She worked for more than a year to earn the money and wrote in a diary to motivate herself, only she couldn’t spell diary so she called it her Pug List. When the grandhumans read it they knew they had to get a pug and eventually they found ME.
