Luna's Social Pug Profile |

It is that time again where you get to know a pug from the social media scene in our popular  Social Pug Profile series. This week it is the cutie, Luna. Get to know Luna in her interview.

Name: Luna

Age: 1

Birth date: 9 March 2015

Where do you live? Canberra, Australia

What is your favourite food?
Steamed chicken served on a bed of shredded hen, lightly dressed with light chicken stock reduction. In other words, I like chicken, chicken, and more chicken.

Do you have a toy that you can’t live without?
My big cuddly hippo that I have had since I was born. When I came to Canberra on the plane from Tasmania I had my hippo with me, and it hasn’t left my side since.

What do you hate the most?
When my Dads go to work in the morning.

What do you love the most?
Trips down to the coast or up to Sydney to see my other furry relatives.

Do you have any bad habits?
I still sometimes chew things that my Dads leave around. At first I chewed two of my Dad’s expensive MacBook chargers, but I’m a little more adventurous these days and have taken a liking to leather shoes. That will teach my Dads for not putting their shoes away!

What do you think is your best quality?
Seeing my Dads smile when they get home and I run over to say hello. They say my cuddles and little kisses are the best!

What does a typical day look like for you?
Once I wake up, I make sure at least one of my Dad’s is awake too. We normally watch some tv or check my Instagram and Facebook until my Dad realises he’s running late for work. Then it’s my job to sit with my Dad while he irons and gets ready to go to work. Sometimes I also sit on the balcony and watch people walking past, or say hello to the birds or other people in opposite appartments.

I don’t always like to eat breakfast, but sometimes once I’m done with my morning pilates (nap) I will have a bit of a nibble and play with some toys. Then it’s time for a nap until I hear their keys opening the front door. This means my Dad’s are home from work and we always have a massive play and cuddle. Sometimes I have to tell my Dad to tone down his excitement because he is always so excited to see me – I swear the neighbours think he is crazy! 😛 We go for a walk to the lake most days to visit the swans and watch the sunset, then it’s time to head home. I love to watch my Dads cooking in the kitchen and try to help as the chief taste-tester. Once dinner is over I like to have a little play to help wear me out – this is a sure way to guarantee more cuddle time with my Dads as they watch TV or relax for the night. On the weekends we normally visit the dog park or go for walks in different places around the city.

What is an adventure have you been on that you love the most?
A few months ago we were visiting my Grandma and Grandad down on the far south coast of New South Wales. My Dad woke me up early to go to the beach and watch the sunrise. While we were out we saw some dolphins and a seal playing in the waves – it was really cool!

What was it like to be asked and featured in the Dogs of Instagram book?
I still don’t really understand all the hype, but my Dad is super proud that I am in the Dogs of Instagram book. My Dad was in Sydney last week and said he saw my photo in a book shop on George Street! The truth is, it’s pretty cool to be in a book, but there are lots of special dogs in this book and I’m super proud to be amongst such cute company!

It sounds like you have an awesome life, Luna. I’d like to go to the beach with you, but I live in the middle of the USA and there’s no ocean here! Our pugs would be very envious of you because it’s turned cold and sometimes we have snow. We had it on Saturday but it melted. But we’ll get plenty more until April. Or May.
