Social Pug Profile | Garçon & Manzo

It is that time again where you get to know a pug from the social media scene in our popular  Social Pug Profile series. This time you can get to know 2 awesome brothers from Singapore. I love seeing Garçon & Manzo’s photos on Instagram and you will love getting to know them.

Name:
Garçon & Manzo

Age:
Garçon: I just turned 3 last month. My brother is 1 years old.

Birth date or Gotcha Date:
Garçon: 28th January 2013
Manzo: 9th April 2014

Where do you live?
Garçon: We live in a teeny weeny sunny island called Singapore.
Manzo: It’s so tiny you will never get lost here.

What is your favourite time of the day?
Garçon: My favorite time of the day will be whenever our daddy is around or during the evenings. That’s when we get to go for longer walks.
Manzo: Milk time! That happens twice a day. Lucky me.

What is your favourite food?
Garçon: Definitely CHICKEN! I go absolutely bananas for it. I love a good bully stick, some asparagus will be pretty fantastic to have too. Yum!
Manzo: We are not allowed to have it regularly but I love it when daddy drives us out for ice cream after our long walkies every month or so. He will always get a kid-sized cup filled with peanut butter or strawberry flavored ice cream for us to share. I also love apples and will immediately sit and start looking at you until you give me a slice.

Do you have a toy that you can’t live without?
Garçon: Anything that’s soft and makes a good squeaky sound. Love playing with my Kong Wobbler too.
Manzo: Socks! If it’s on the floor, it’s mine. And also any toy that my brother is playing at the moment, it’s mine! Mine! MINE!

What do you hate the most?
Garçon: Fireworks
Manzo: I generally hate getting wet. I will turn around and refuse to walk immediately at the sound or sight of rain. I will also avoid water puddles in the park or wet pavements by jumping over or walking around them. Don’t even mention the word ‘bath’.

What do you love the most?
The Garçon: I love walking in the rain and will make the extra effort to walk through all the puddles, paying no attention to the constant drizzle. I will rather be wet instead of going for cover even in a heavy downpour.
Manzo: I love going for jogs with my dad in the evening or running around freely in the beach. I get crazily excited when I hear the words ‘run’ and ‘beach’.

Do you have any bad habits?
Garçon: Eating cat food and my excessive need to mark and sniff when I’m out. Daddy likes to call me his little detective. What can I say? It’s a tough world out there for a pug.
Manzo: Sometimes when it’s dark or late out, I like to stare blankly towards a direction before I start to growl and bark at the air or unexplained delicate movements lurking in the dark just so I can see my folks wet their pants. I will then start to be visibly frightened and made every effort to leave. It is so convincing that I managed to fool our humans and their friends into believing that I have an ability to sense the supernatural. Teehee.

What do you think is your best quality?
Garçon: Being goofy and laid back. I’m the biggest goof ball when I’m outside but back at home, I’m a cuddle bug that offers an endless supply of kisses!
Manzo: I am a fast learner, I will do anything for a treat. I also enjoy receiving all the attention from strangers and milking the moment for all it’s worth.

Both of you are pretty awesome in front of the camera. What are your tips to becoming awesome pug models like you?
Garçon: Thank you! I recently got my first experience to be a model for Ohpopdog, a local dog apparel brand that I love dearly. I had plenty of fun doing that. I wish I could give you tips but the truth is I simply enjoy being photographed. I start to jump for excitement and joy whenever I see my dad grab the camera and will even start posing if I’m in a good mood. Though treats are definitely essential for me to cooperate especially if you require me to stay put for more than a minute.
Manzo: I have a huge tendency to be more reserved and shy around cameras. I prefer to sit next to dad and watch my bro work the camera. Occasionally, I do give in but that rarely ever happens.
Garçon: Love you bro but I don’t think it’s fair you’re always getting those treats next to dad while I have to work harder for it.

What is the best thing about having a sibling?
Garçon: Manzo is my bro and partner in crime, it’s comforting to know that especially when we’re both trying something new for the first time together.
Manzo: Knowing that someone will always be there for you. The best part is having a forever friend that knows exactly how you feel and why you do what you do (for the most part).

What is the worst thing about having a sibling?
Garçon: We would playfight and he’ll usually win. He likes to annoy me cause he like my reactions.
Manzo: Feeling like I’m always the last one to reach any personal milestone and being referred to as ‘the baby’ in the house even after you hit puberty!
