Rocky Puggy Road Dog Treat Recipe

Rocky Puggy Road Dog Treat Recipe |

I absolutely love rocky road chocolate but we all know that dogs can’t eat chocolate. It will make them sick. I was wondering how Ref could share in my enjoyment of rocky road whilst being safe and delicious for him. So I have come up with this Rocky Puggy Road dog treat recipe that is safe and delicious for dogs.

  • 270g of carob drops
  • 50g of yoghurt drops, roughly chopped
  • 10g of desiccated coconut
  • 15g of unsalted peanuts, roughly chopped
  • 40g frozen raspberries, thawed

  • Melt carob drops in a glass bowl over boiling water
  • Mix coconut, peanuts and raspberries into melted carob
  • Pour carob mixture into a baking tin
  • Allow to cool slightly but not so it sets
  • Randomly place yoghurt drops through mixture
  • Place in fridge immediately to set so the yoghurt drops don’t melt
  • Once completely set, approx. 30 minutes, remove from baking tin and chop up into pug size pieces

** The above recipe is for treats only and should not replace your dog’s regular meals. Peanuts are normally safe for dogs in small quantities as they are high in fat. Remove any ingredients your dog may have allergies to. Always check with your vet about any new additions or changes to your dog’s diet.

  • Makes 12 large pieces or 24 small pieces
  • Allow the the frozen raspberries to completely thaw out on paper towel to remove any excess liquid
  • You can roughly chop up the raspberries or leave them whole
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days

Thanks for stopping by. You can try your local health food store for human grade yoghurt drops. Otherwise there are a few pet stores that sell them in different flavours. You’ll just have to do a google search to find the best deal.
