Rescue Love is Special

Rescue Love is Special |

There’s nothing quite like pug love. But a rescue pug’s love is something different altogether. Rescue love is special. Not just for you or me but for the rescue too.

The love I have for my rescue, Serina is different to the love I have for Ref. It’s not greater or lesser love, it’s different. It’s special. All I have ever wanted when I adopted Serina was for her to feel safe and loved. I didn’t know that I could love her this much. And my love for her has helped her to become the pug she deserves to be. It’s helped her to love back.

I have to admit that I always thought Ref was obsessed with me. He’d follow me everywhere. He’d always wanted cuddles. He’d always want attention. But it wasn’t until I got Serina that I realised that Ref shared his love with my mum and dad so much too. Serina though, her love is exclusive. There is only one person she wants to be with. Sure she likes my mum and dad. And other people too. But her love and devotion to me is on a different level.

If she’s awake, she’s staring at me. I move an inch, she moves with me. I leave the room, she’s right behind me. I’m in the shower, she’s waiting outside the door for me. I go to the toilet, she’s at my feet. I get out of bed during the night, I’m not alone. I’m never alone. She is always with me.

I am the only one who can hold her. I am the only one who can kiss her. I am the only one who can hug her. I am the only one she’ll snuggle up to. I am the only lap she’ll sit on.

Her love is special. It is unconditional. It is exclusive. It is true. It is pure. It is mine.

I have never experienced love like Serina’s love for me.

If you get to experience rescue love, take it with all you have because you are one of the luckiest people on earth.

That’s why rescue love is special.
